Some people wonder what led me to write this book. As a curious youth, I decided I'd read the Bible for myself instead of just having someone tell me what it said. Even at a young age I was told I had a logical, analytical mind, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that I started noticing things that created questions. It seemed logical to me to simply seek the answers, but when I'd go to church and ask my questions, the usual answer was either "You have to have faith" or the Bible says so". These weren't answers at all. I didn't accept these non-answers and there came a time when I was told that I was welcome, but my questions were not.|
With the advent of the computer I started hanging out in chatrooms. As someone from a long line of 'sensitives', it didn't take me long to locate and start spending time in psychic chatrooms. Before long we started getting what we called the "holier-than-thous". These were people who would come in the room and tell us we were all going to Hell because we were psychic. It was logical for me to start pressing their knowledge of the bible. I would ask them all the questions that I had collected during my life to which no one could answer. For instance, the Bible said there was Adam and Eve, who had two sons, Cain and Abel. After Cain killed Abel he went to the land of Nod and found a wife. Where did Cain's wife come from? It wouldn't take long for them to get flustered and leave. Over time, it became my job to run them off.
My Catholic friend one day asked me "Why don't you write a book?" to which I had no answer, so a year and a half later I came out with this book. I explain to people that the Old Testament is not a history book. It is a collection of stories meant to teach lessons. Back then, man was incapable of abstract thought. You couldn't just tell him, you had to show him. The stories in the Bible also come from multiple sources. Some stories were ancient Hebrew folklore and some where Bablonian stories. Some were Egyptian in origin and some were Sumerian.
